Our Programmes
Three programmes, each addressing a different chapter of financial life
Tax. Inheritance. Investing. Each programme stands alone. Together, they cover much of what adults 40+ in Thailand need to read with confidence.
← Back to HomeThe Approach Shared Across All Three
Every Boon Capital programme begins from the same position: participants are adults with full lives, existing commitments, and prior experience. The facilitator's role is not to start from scratch but to meet each group where they are and build from there.
Pre-reading is sent before each session. Sessions discuss and extend that reading — they do not simply repeat it. Questions from participants shape the direction of each meeting, particularly in the Apprenticeship, where learning journals allow the facilitator to know what is actually on participants' minds before walking into the room.
The curriculum for each programme is reviewed before each cohort against current Thai regulations and any relevant changes in law or practice. This means the materials are current, not recycled from a previous year without review.
Groups are small — capped at twelve — which allows real discussion. The facilitator knows each participant's broad context by the second session, and can address questions and observations that a large group format would not accommodate.
A Reading Companion to the Thai Tax Year
This three-session programme walks participants through the personal tax year in Thailand with particular attention to the deductions and allowances most relevant to adults 40+: provident fund contributions, RMF and LTF historical allowances, life insurance premiums, and the considerations particular to expatriate residents.
The facilitator is an educator, not a tax adviser. Participants leave better prepared to read tax materials independently and to ask informed, specific questions of a licensed professional. A reference card and a glossary are included.
What the three sessions cover
- 1The structure of the Thai personal tax year — income categories, filing obligations, and the assessment calendar
- 2Deductions and allowances for adults 40+ — provident fund, RMF, LTF, life insurance premiums, personal and family allowances
- 3Expatriate considerations — Thai-sourced versus foreign-sourced income, the remittance rule, and what to discuss with your adviser
- Reference card and glossary included
- Curriculum reviewed before each cohort
- Suitable for both Thai nationals and expatriates
Conversations on Inheritance
A weekend programme of two sessions on the cultural and financial dimensions of inheritance in Thai households at 40+. The first session focuses on documents — wills, beneficiary nominations, property transfer considerations under Thai law. The second session is more reflective: it considers the conversations these arrangements often invite, including conversations across generations and across cultures within mixed-nationality households.
The small group format supports both technical learning and personal reflection. Both sessions take place over a single weekend, making the time commitment predictable and contained.
The two-session structure
- 1Documents and arrangements — wills under Thai law, beneficiary nominations, property transfer considerations, basic estate structure
- 2The conversations these arrangements invite — intergenerational dialogue, cross-cultural dimensions, how to approach discussions that many families avoid
- Directly addresses mixed-nationality households
- Technical and reflective dimensions in the same programme
- Weekend format — Saturday and Sunday, back to back
The Investing Apprenticeship
A four-month programme of monthly meetings designed for adult readers who would like a patient, in-depth introduction to investing. Each meeting addresses a single broad topic — asset classes, risk and time horizon, fund structures, market history — with reading provided in advance and discussion led by an educator.
Between meetings, participants keep a written learning journal which is reviewed in confidence at the next session. This allows the facilitator to address what is actually on each participant's mind, rather than following a rigid script. The aim is fluency that develops gradually and remains useful for decades.
Four monthly sessions
- 1Asset classes and their characteristics — equities, bonds, property, cash, and what distinguishes each in practice
- 2Risk and time horizon — what risk actually means in different contexts, and how time horizon changes the conversation
- 3Fund structures — how mutual funds, ETFs, and unit trusts work; what a prospectus actually says
- 4Market history — what markets have done over long periods, and what that does and does not tell us about the future
- Pre-reading sent before each session
- Confidential learning journal reviewed at each meeting
- Monthly cadence fits working and family life

Standards Shared Across All Programmes
Participant Privacy
Contact details and learning journal contents are held in confidence and not shared. Journal entries are seen only by the facilitator and destroyed after the programme concludes.
Current Regulatory Accuracy
Each curriculum is reviewed before the cohort it serves — not once at programme launch. Tax law, fund regulation, and inheritance rules change; the materials reflect what is currently in force.
No Financial Product Referrals
Boon Capital holds no arrangements with financial product providers. No programme leads to a recommendation, a product sale, or a referral for commission.
Written Feedback After Every Session
Participants are invited to give written feedback after each session. This is read and used. Changes to pacing, examples, and materials happen between cohorts in response to what participants report.
Capped Cohort Sizes
Every cohort is capped at twelve participants. This is not a guideline — it is enforced. When a cohort is full, enquirers are offered a place on the next available cohort.
Responsive Enquiry Handling
All enquiries receive a personal response within one working day. If you are uncertain which programme suits you, a brief exchange usually resolves it without pressure to enrol.
Programme Fees
All prices are in Thai baht and include all materials. Payment is by bank transfer prior to the first session.
